South Cotabato News Atbp congratulates JR Lopez Gonzales of Tupi, South Cotabato for bringing home the Top Prize in the recently concluded (Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc) RAFI Triennial Awards blogging contest.
JR, who is currently teaching at MSU-IIT in Iligan City bested other bloggers from Visayas and Mindanao who blogged about the inspiring stories and work of development workers in Visayas and Mindanao. Guided by the competition's theme, "Shaping the big picture of change" JR did some background research and featured on his personal blog- POLITIKALON the lives and works of not only 1 but all the 10 RAFI Triennial Awardees who is from Mindanao that includes Ramon Piang (from Upi, Maguindanao), Salvecio B. Dagang (a T'boli doctor from T'boli, South Cotabato), Bainon G. Karon (Cotabato City), Rey Catague (M'lang, Cotabato), Eddie Alih (Tawi-Tawi), Save Mindanao Volunteers Inc.(Agusan del Sur), Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministries Inc. (Davao City), Muslim-Christian Agency for Rural Development Inc. (Cagayan de Oro City), Maharlika Charity Foundation Inc (Davao City)and Mahintana Foundation Inc. (Polomolok, South Cotabato).
By bagging the top prize of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) Triennial Awards Blogging Contest, JR has won for himself P25,000 and a plaque from RAFI. Other winners were Warlie Diaz of Guimaras (2nd Place- P20,000 + plaque) and Vernon Go of Cebu City (3rd Place- P15,000 + plaque).
JR Lopez Gonzales who also serves as the editor-in-chief of MSU College of Law- IIigan's shool paper was also the 1st Place winner of the 1st SouthCotabato.Org Blog-writing Contest held last year.
